 UPS GETS CARBON TRUST LISTING PROVIDING TAX ADVANTAGES

 Advanced Power Technology, provider of resilient power solutions in critical applications and  distributor for Active Power announced today that the CleanSource® UPS (uninterruptible power supply) is the ONLY UPS product that has met relevant energy saving criteria and is now listed on the Energy Technology List (ETL), which is managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the UK Government.

As a result, UK businesses that purchase Active Power’s UPS may benefit from a 100 percent first year capital allowance on their investment against taxable profits. This UPS is one of the most efficient on the market, particularly when running at half  load as in an N+1 configuration, unlike other UPS systems where efficiency reduces dramatically at lower loads. The UPS also uses a fly wheel to store energy, which is a very green method of energy storage compared to the traditional battery.  A ‘Genstart’ stand-by generator starting system completes this very efficient stand-by power solution. The much talked about PUE of the data centre will also be improved.
